At our Autonomous Sensing Lab, onboard the American Victory Ship in downtown Tampa, autonomous systems are tested in a complex urban environment, and the data they generate is translated into instant insights with our IBIS™ platform.
The American Victory Ship is one of only four operating WWII ships in the U.S., and we’re proud to build upon its impressive history. Our Lab is the site of many of our partnership demonstrations, and companies are welcome to schedule a visit to test their tech alongside our IBIS™ platform.
Onboard, we offer:

Interested in visiting the Autonomous Sensing Lab?
Here’s how it works.
Deploy your autonomous systems, sensors, or platforms in urban maritime conditions that simulations can’t replicate.
Integrate sensor feeds into IBIS™ and watch raw data become queryable in plain English within the same visit.
Test multi-system integration across your platform, existing facility sensors, and other partner hardware simultaneously.

From raw sensor feed to structured, queryable insights through IBIS™.
A recent field test condensed an 8-hour task into 20 seconds.

Your buyers want to see technology performing in real-world environments.
At our Autonomous Sensing Lab, you can:
Bring your customers to a live demo on water with real data output
Use Certus Core's integration layer to make your hardware's results immediately understandable and visual

In partnership with Beam Sea Associates, Tampa Deep Sea Xplorers, and the USF Institute of Applied Engineering, this SOCOM STTR brought IBIS™ to the water.
Through IBIS™, operators were able to access dissimilar data sources via natural language chat. The system also integrates a hybrid underwater LiDAR and Communications capability with multi-platform robotics coordination.
The result: faster, cleaner decision-making with data that used to sit in silos.

Our Autonomous Sensing Lab is open to defense and technology companies ready to validate hardware, run customer demos, and generate real-world data in a maritime environment.
Schedule a visitThe Autonomous Sensing Lab is a fully instrumented maritime test facility operated by Certus Core aboard the American Victory Ship in downtown Tampa, Florida. It's where we test our partners’ hardware and our platform IBIS™ to generate real maritime data, and we welcome defense and technology companies to generate their own data in a real maritime environment. To learn more or schedule a visit, please contact us.
The Lab is designed for defense contractors, autonomous systems developers, sensor and robotics companies, and maritime technology companies looking to validate hardware performance, test multi-system integration, or run live demonstrations for military and government buyers in a credible operational environment.
The Lab comes equipped with our IBIS™ platform, which allows you to interact with all of your data in plain English, no specialized analyst required. It generates insights and visualizations in seconds to accelerate decision-making. The Lab also includes mesh networking, Starlink connectivity, on-site edge servers, and an existing sensor array covering movement, acoustics, imagery, video, and network telemetry from prior partner projects.
The Lab is located aboard the American Victory Ship in downtown Tampa, Florida, one of only four operational WWII-era vessels remaining in the United States. Its urban waterfront location and active port traffic make it uniquely suited for testing autonomous systems in complex real-world maritime conditions.
The Lab structure was built by AbleNook, a fellow Embarc Collective member in Tampa.
